Our tumbling and acro foundations class is a fun way to learn basic floor skills (such as cartwheels, handstands and rolls) and foundations of partner acro.

Part 1

We begin this class with an individual warm up before practicing some basic gymnastic tumbling.  Work at your own pace to try different tumbling skills such as forward & backward rolls, cartwheels & handstands.  You don’t need to know how to do these already (we can show you!) & if you already know how, our coaches can add some challenges for you!  

Part 2

In the second part of this class you will build on your current Acro skills.  You will learn more intermediate poses & transitions (such as flows/washing machines & dynamic pops).  This class includes mainly floor acro (the base lying down) but also incorporates some fun standing moves & skills (catered to the level of participants in the class).  It’s best to have attended our Monday Beginners class (or at least tried acro before) however beginners can be catered for if you can’t get to our Monday class, just let our coaches know.

If you are brand new to Acro we generally recommend our Beginners Acro Class, but if you can't make it along on Mondays then you can join this class.  If you're not sure or have a question, simply contact us and we help you find the right class for you. 

Expect to learn a variety of different tumbling skills including forward rolls, backward rolls, cartwheels, handstands and more if you're up for the challenge!  We will teach you how to safely practice these skills and you will be given time to practice and try different movements.  You will learn foundations of partner acro and build on these skills to add dynamic transitions such as flows or 'pops' (a fun way of getting from one position to another!).
